100 Best Places to Live in America, 2010 edition

If you focus only on the averages, life in the typical American town frankly doesn't seem so hot right now. The median home continues to lose value. Cash-strapped state and local governments are cutting services. And unemployment, at 9.3%, is still high. But those bummer statistics obscure one important-and encouraging-fact: There are plenty of outliers. MONEY found them through its annual search for the best places in America, which this year focused on the nation's small cities (those with populations of 50,000 to 300,000). Reporters crunched reams of data to find the optimal combo of job opportunities, fiscal strength, top-notch...

Stage 2 - * man break with 90k

Good morning. Things are progressing as expected this morning. we have an 8 man break including: ■Sylvain Chavanel (QuickStep) ■Matthew Lloyd (Omega Pharma-Lotto) ■Jürgen Roelandts (Omega Pharma-Lotto) ■Marcus Burghardt (BMC) ■Jerome Pineau (QuickStep) ■Sebasitien Turgot (Bbox) ■Rein Taaramae (Cofidis) ■Francesco Gavazzi (Lampre) The peloton is 2:55 behind and have been steadily bringing the gap down. Eat less, live longer?

In Greek mythology, the tale of the Trojan prince Tithonus is a tragic one. His lover, the goddess Eos, asks Zeus to grant him eternal life, but forgets to specify eternal youth. Time passes, and while the goddess of dawn stays young and beautiful, Tithonus degenerates into bedridden senility. (Snip) On the assumption that it has the same effect in people, some individuals have already adopted a restricted diet. The latest evidence suggests that while calorie restriction is indeed beneficial for humans, when it comes to lifespan extension, it may not be the whole story.

Classic Albums, Live!

Doolittle: yes please. Metal Machine Music: no thanks. The current vogue for "heritage" acts delivering their best albums live, in their entirety, is a double-edged sword, says Martin Aston. NEXT WEEK, THE WHO (or Who's Left anyway) perform Quadrophenia at London's Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity, while Primal Scream revisit Screamadelica at Olympia in November. At this rate, it's quite possible that every single famous act will have showcased their undisputed "classic" album by the end of 2010. Should we be worried? Why France is best place to live in world

London, England (CNN) -- Bindi Dupouy, an Australian living in Paris, and her French husband, just had their first child, a son born in the country. She can take another seven months off beyond that -- a year total -- unpaid, if she wants, with her job guaranteed under French law. When her son Louis was born, healthy and by way of a normal delivery, she got to stay in her local French hospital, around the corner from where she lives, for five...
